mission statement

Hillyard Built is a community based non-profit dedicated to breaking the stigma that “success does not come out of Hillyard.” Our organization’s work is aimed around assisting in-need Hillyard youth with resources to participate in programs that would promote the overall goal of skill development, inclusion, and improved self-esteem.

About Hillyard Built

Hillyard Built's namesake was inspired threefold:

1: Our founder Crystal (Perry) Via grew up in the Hillyard area attended Regal Elementary, Shaw MS and graduated from Rogers HS in 1999. The obstacles and experiences of being a member of our underserved community helped build Crystal into the tenacious, determined and scrappy person she has grown into. Hence the name Hillyard Built.

2: Every effort is being taken to keep design, production and sales within the Hillyard community. Our designers were Rogers students or graduates. Our screen printing company is located in Hillyard. Our board and volunteers all have ties to our Hillyard community. We will participate and attend as many Hillyard festivals and events as possible to sell our product. This business will be operating with Hillyard blood. Hence the name Hillyard Built.

3: 100% of proceeds from sales are donated back into our Hillyard community's youth to help them grow and thrive. Not only do we help pay for athletic camps, but music and art programs, gear/materials, instruments, academic tutors, uniforms, mentorships etc. The sky is the limit. Our goal is to help build up our Hillyard youth. Hence the name Hillyard Built.

Hillyard Built is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization EIN 88-2340581
